Yeah. I now am employed. Full time. It is quite odd to have three months of wonderful leisure time and then jump straight into a full time position.
I guess my savings couldn't have carried me my whole life. . .
I am now a productive member of society and a tax payer! That is exciting, I suppose. I can't wait to see how much UT, US and FICA will take out of my check each time. WHOOO!!! On the bright side, at least I have a check! (Or will, once my first payday comes.)
The snow came two days ago. I nearly cried. It is cold and wet and it makes my nose and cheeks turn red. I am not diggin it so much, but I know we need it. I am trying not to complain. It hasn't snowed since, so the roads are nice and dry!! That is how I like them to be. I know it will not last too long, however, and that is a thought I am pushing out of my head.
There really is no point to this post. I merely felt like writing since I haven't had the stomach to after. . . well. . .let's just call it "D Day", shall we? I know that name is taken, so I will label it for those who don't know what I am talking about as November 4.
That might clarify some things. . .
*sigh* I wish December would go on forever. . .only to skip Inaug. Day. HAHA! :)

My country, 'tis of thee. . .

"We the people make liberty happen. If we don't keep freedom and justice vigorous-by serving on juries and following the news and voting in every election-we can allow them to die."
-Jay Henrichs
I found this quote while browsing through a magazine sent to our house from AAA. I stopped flipping the pages when I saw a picture of the Founding Fathers' bronze statues in Philadelphia. I read from that point until the end of the article and found the above quote. Let me just say it is amazing.
I completely agree with what he wrote in this magazine. It makes me quite disconsolate to think of the large number of people who will not vote in this upcoming election; simply because they "do not care", "do not like either of the candidates", or claim a lack of education on the candidates/subjects.
Where is the love of liberty this country once had? Too many men (and women, I'm sure) have sacrificed their money, careers, family and lives to make this the great country it is today. How do we repay those brave souls who tread the way before us? We figuratively spit on their graves when we do not vote. Liberty equals freedom and independence; two things our country used to value and regard so highly.
What happened to America? Why do we not care? Now, we will try anything to get out of jury duty and invent lame excuses as to why we are not voting. To think of what women went through in the early 1900s to secure my right to vote and NOT vote is asinine. As a woman, I recognize their struggles and sacrifices and I choose to thank them for securing my suffrage by voting in every election.
I beg anyone reading this to please vote. Fulfill your duty to your country and do not skip out of jury duty or claim ignorance and choose not to go to the polls next month. Your country has been good to you---do her a small favor in return.
. . . .sweet land of LIBERTY, of thee I sing.

Death and politics
Today was my great uncle's funeral. It was sad to see my grandma so affected and hurt by his death.
His funeral was really awesome, though. Since he was a retired officer from the Marines, we got to see the 21 gun salute (apparently it is 7 guns and 3 shots fired from each. I thought it would be 21 guns firing once), which was the coolest thing ever. The only reason (other than my poor grandma crying so much) I cried was because it was so awesome to see someone who had served our country being honored and remembered that way. It was so patriotic and beautiful. I love America and the funeral made me so happy to live in a country such as this! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
On a lesser note, it also made me want to join the military! Haha. I want to serve my country, but I have to find a way to do it without joining the Marines or Army. I would be more trouble and less help to them.
As for politics, today was the first VP debate. I even had a reminder set on my phone to watch it. Thanks to my sweet little brother and sister however, I was too wrapped up in them to remember to watch it. I did hear the closing statements of each and watched the highlights. I agree that Palin held her own, but the mess up of the generals was a bit much. McClellan and McKiernan. The names are so close, so I can see how it would be an easy mistake. . .but a Civil War general and a general of a war she is all for is a HUGE mix up. She is going to get some MAJOR heartache for that one, but on the soft side, I want to forgive her.
Sarah, I still think you are more qualified than Biden.
Before you judge her too harshly, read THIS and then tell me she is the idiot. I dare you.

Mmmm! Literature!!
Lately, it seems, I have been on a reading kick.
I have been going through novel after novel, soaking up all I can while I have the free time in which to do it.
Favorite book so far? Obviously To Kill A Mockingbird since it IS the best novel ever written.
I am currently re-reading Huck Finn, another great one, and I cannot believe how many amazing books are out there.
Even harder to believe, however, is how many poor, unfortunate, STUPID people do not take advantage of them. I am not talking about the people who cannot read (that is another story) or those too poor to afford books (I still call B.S.-go to a library). I am referring to those who CAN, but choose NOT to read.
WHY?!?!?!

Wrap it up, baby!
Last night, thanks to the persistency of a certain someone, I decided to start a new writing project. I love to write, so I thought maybe I would listen to him and start. It actually feels really good to write again. I have enough free time that I suppose it is a nice outlet for my pent up energy!!
I just know I will not finish it. Why do I never finish anything I write?
I guess maybe what I write on here is about the only thing I

In lieu of working. . .
Since I am now back home and jobless (as well as school-less), let's just say I have a lot of free time on my hands.
I also have the opportunity (for lack of a better word) to spend a while on the internet.
Here is what I have found today so far:
This is great! Absolutely fantastic. She has done a few songs and I give her props for uploading these online. I love this so much because this is what I do in my free time, too! The only difference is I am not so clever as to use props and sweet lighting changes. I also do not record myself and post them to YouTube!
I also found this picture today on google images:

Haha! I love it. I do not know what time "1, 15" is, but I am guessing it is close to 1:15?
My favorite part, though, is definitely the description of the sermon. Surely it will not disappoint!!

Sweet Nothings in My Ears. . .
The glorious ringing sound of a loud rock concert is still in my head.
I love it!
I don't know why, but there is just something so great about a rock concert. It makes me so happy. I smiled the whole time Def Leppard played. It's crazy how something like that can make someone so happy. . .but it does!!
I have never been so close to them before--thank goodness for presale tickets!!!
I love them all and I just am so happy. I think a good rock concert is what I needed right now. Everything was great other than psycho, drugged out old guy in front of me who kept hitting on me. Sorry dude. Just something about old men with grey hair in pony tails is not necessarily attractive!! EW!
My spirits are up and I am getting ready to sleep!!
Life is good. Really, it is.

It's like music to my ears
OH WAIT!!! It is!!
Bamboozle Left this weekend was so good.
Jimmy Eat World was almost more amazing than I could take! And after trying to see them twice before, The Audition did not disappoint!!
I love going to shows, but I am terrified of moshing. I don't get why people do it. Really!! Is it THAT much fun to push each other? I would definitely rather watch the band play.
After all, isn't that what people go for?!
I don't know…all I know is that I love music!!! I'm still on a high from the show…
and I don't think it is from the secondhand pot smoke, either!!

Here kitty, kitty!
That's right.
My auntie and I just adopted a cat. I don't know what drove us to do such a thing.
It could be the fact that we are both impulsive women and a sucker for family-less animals.
Anyway,
we saved Mr. Louie earlier this afternoon. He is adorable.
The only problem is, he's started scratching the furniture! OH NO.
My family wants to declaw him, but I am trying everything I can to stop this from happening.
I've seen it done and it's quite horrific.
On a lighter note. . .
I love my new kitty!!!

Hot tubs and tool sheds
yeah. . .I dunno why there is a song titled that, but there is. It's by Straylight Run. . .a great band my ex introduced me to back in 06.
Anyway---hot tubs. I finally went in one; the one in my backyard! It was so very nice. Last time I was going to go hot tubbing was February 7th, so I have had my hopes up since then!
It was not a let down at all to finally go in. I don't know what it is about hot tubs that is so grand, but I just can't resist them! I don't know what is better than relaxing in nice hot water under a gorgeous (semi) starry sky.
That sounds more romantic than it was--seeing how I was with my cousins and uncle. Gross. But had there been a love interest (if that were existent at this point), it would have been quite a nice evening.
It actually was so much better that I was alone. I have needed to be alone lately.
Just hanging out with my main man, God.

Ouch

So I tried wearing my retainer after who knows how long? I was shocked at the amount of pain I felt. So, I took out my sweet little multi-colored polka dot mouth piece (closely resembling this guy) after maybe 30 minutes. So much for two years and thousands of dollars worth of braces, right?
Does that mean my teeth have moved a lot? Maybe I should start wearing it more often. . .
No pain. No gain. Just crooked teeth.

Gone, baby, gone
So how is it when you finally feel like your life is on the "ups", but there is something that is holding you back?
well apparently one of my not-so-good friends is what's holding me back. i'm not regretting what I did, but I am bummed about the fact that this friend won't forgive or accept what has happened. A quote I found in one of my friends' space bulletins:
"i will disappoint you at some point. we all have faults. but we can love each other regardless of those faults, because that is one of the fundamental aspects of friendship."
I love her for posting this. I want to tell this to my friend. I have tried to seek this person's forgiveness over and over. I have since decided to not contact this person anymore, as there were NO signs of ever wanting to be friends again.
I guess it's for the best. How this person has handled this shows his/her true character, right? This person hasn't proven to be a good friend, at least to me, throughout this whole ordeal. Why would I want to waste my time trying to get this person to like me again?
I guess the answer is because I really did enjoy my friendship with this person. And now, after a couple months, it is over. That is the bummer.
Well, this was not meant to be depressing. . .just trying to get my feelings out. Hoping maybe this person will read this and see that love and forgiveness is not only what my friend wanted when she posted her bulletin, but it's what God wants us to do in regards to our relationships.
For someone who claims to love God, does that have any weight?
I miss you, friend. I really do.

Faith
. . . Not only a good song by George Michael (later killed by Limp Bizkit), but the main theme of my life; especially lately.
There's no problem too big and no question too small, just ask God in faith and He'll answer them all- Not always at once, so be patient and wait, For "God never answers too soon or too late" -- So trust in His wisdom and believe in His word, For no prayer's unanswered and no prayer unheard.
(Helen Steiner Rice)
This really affected me today because it is so true-I barely lived this realization. God answered my prayers not on my time, but on His. My life is totally better for it.
I trusted and believed in him, waited (semi)patiently and received my answer. . . .
just gotta have faith!!!

FINALLY!!
So my trip down "figuring life out lane" hasn't been too exciting for anyone reading this, I'm sure. But I do have grand news!!
Due to several factors from last night and today. . . .
I AM STAYING IN CALIFORNIA!!!!!
Oh boy that is ever so exciting. . .
I am so relieved and am just praising God right now.
I've been waiting since about October for an answer. I have made some horrible decisions since that time, but I am done with everything wrong I was doing.
Life is too great to live how I was.
Anyway, God is great. So is L-I-F-E!!

Oh ate
The title is about as clever as I will get on here. I don't like blogs that try to come off all witty when they're really not! Ok, that aside--Happy New Year! Oh how much is going to change this year. . who knows. . .since my post in October, I have been debating my decision to move back to the 801. I just don't know if I am ready to handle another move!! I'm just hoping something will come to me soon. . .if my bestie moves here, then I am staying for sure. But would I have more fun back home and then have the two of us still move out together!?
My question for the first few months of the new year is: Should I Stay or Should I Go Now? Also great lyrics from a super song!
